Post Treatment Care & Support

How we look after our patients following surgery?

Tim and our nursing staff will ensure that your surgical experience is as pleasant as possible. Emotional comfort is as important to healing as your physical wellbeing.

We operate on our patients at hospitals that we feel provide the most caring environment and highest quality facilities.

Mr Brown is available for his patients every day, and in case of emergencies, at any time.

Following discharge from hospital, you will be given printed instructions about what to expect, and how to care for yourself. Usually we will have arranged for you to see Mr Brown the day after surgery, so he can check that everything is going well, and that you have adequate pain killers. It also gives you an opportunity to ask any more questions about your surgery, and for us to ensure that your dressings are secure.

We arrange to see you a week after your surgery to check the wound and change dressings. Some stitches may be removed at this time.

We also see you two weeks after surgery to remove any remaining stitches. By this time, most wounds are fully healed.

Your next appointment is usually six weeks after your operation, but we will see you at any time you require help or advice.

The next appointment is usually three months after your operation, by which time we can advise you on garment fitting, exercise and other issues that may have arisen.

Patient’s are never discharged until they are happy with their surgical result, and have had all their questions answered.
